Prada Heaven...

Prada never has and never will disappoint. For all there are wonderful designers around, the Phoebe Philo's, Marc Jacobs, Sander, Simons, Lagerfeld...Miuccia Prada just never falters. This season absolutely wowed me when i first saw it, from the ad campaigns to the runway shows, it is just perfection. No one can deny that high street shops have copied none other then the Italian fashion house. Right from Primark to Next to Topshop, the patterned shirts teamed with patterned trousers. Worn together or seperately, it all depends on just how fashion forward you are!!! Windows are adorned with Doctors style bags, zip totes, heavily belted coats, embellieshed jackets and clashing diamond prints. The whole world has gone Prada crazy. And now, just when i thought i could be wowed no more, i laid eyes on the hair styles on the catwalk. Reminded me of me yester-year, the old dip-dye never fails to impress me. And in true Prada style, they don't do things by halves, hair extensions were attached in all their glory. The longer the better, the bolder the better!!!

Ahh it's nice to see even the biggest fashion houses giving those who can't afford the wears the option to buy into a small part of the label!!! Even if it is through the hairdresser!!!Xxx

Top Knots...

The top knot is back!!! Did it ever go away really??! It certainly did for me when i cut off the locks and opted for a blunt bob for the last six months. Then after what felt like a forever of waiting i turned into Rapunzel (well, not quite!!!) and now my top knot is on top of my head while we speak...or write. Ahhh perfect. I feel like the me of yester-year, minus the Winehouse eyeliner!

If you need me, i will be fixing my hair!!!Xxx

Trend Alert...

Now i remember way back in 1999, me and my Sister Charlotte wholeheartedly embraced this trend. Can't decide whether to wear a skirt or trousers??! Well why not just wear both of them together??! Skorts are so last year (culottes pretending to be skirts!) and now we have the mature version of that 90's trend. And let's face it, it it is seen on the runway of Chanel, Prada and Erdem, we are all going to sit up and listen!!!

Giambattista Valli.

Chanel.

Marc Jacobs.

Prada.

Louis Vuitton.

Aquilano Rimondi.

We have A-line, layering, embellishments, gothic chic. Heavy wool from Vuitton, jewels form Prada, puffball dresses over cigarette legs at Christian Dior. Everyone is jumping on board. The whole world has gone skirt over trouser crazy! I think that i shall try this out myself. Now pass me that tunic and my tailored trousers, let's see what we have here!!!Xxx

Skyfall...

Skyfall.
Daniel Craig.
OUT TODAY!!!!!

What are you doing with your Friday night!!!Xxx

The Carrie Diaries...

I am ridiculously excited??! Why i hear you ask!!! The trailer for the Sex and the City prequel, The Carrie Diaries, has been aired! This is something i HAVE to see. I am yet again back to the beginning of the series run i do constantly. I am actually addicted, morning, noon and night, i have it playing while straightening, tidying, make upping, sleeping, i think that you get the picture. (And i do think that Carrie is most definitely my style icon. Yes, yes she is!)

The series takes us back to 1984 (i was only one!!!) where Carrie is still in school. Her Mother has just passed and she immerses herself in friends, fashion and boys! (Don't we all!) Her Father suggests a change of scenery, thus Carrie finds herself interning in Manhattan. The backdrop to Sex and the City! So much to happen, so much to find out! Oooh it's like real life!!!

All set to air in January 2013.
Starring AnnaSophia Robb and Freema Agyeman!!!Xxx

Maison Martin Margiela...

Maison Martin Margiela. 15th November. I shall be there. BUT ONLY if i can manage to bag myself the oversized trousers. Holy cow they are actually to die for. I first laid eyes on the collection a week ago. My fellow fashion friend Matthew brought up the pictures whilst on the shop floor...yes, this was probably wrong but OH SO RIGHT!!!!! Wow! You should have seen the smile on my face!

Just take a look...

I am always a massive fan of anything oversized and masculine, the bigger the better, the baggier the better. Especially when teamed with heavy lips and a nice brogue. This collection has to be the best H&M have ever done. Of course excluding the ADR most recently, the accessories were to die for! The prices here range from £15.99 to £159.99 (or thereabouts!) totally reasonable. The bubble coat, the masculine suit, the cuts, the tailoring, everything is just perfect! Metallic clutches make the brand totally accessible, high-tops, boots with perspex heels (yesssss!) could you ask for anything more??! Definitely not!!!

15th November. My new anniversary!!!Xxx

Disney Princess...

Ahh Vogue.com, you never fail to let me down. Delivering news with Disney Princess in the title is like music to my ears...or eyes! Harrods Christmas window is one must-see for sure. It shall be decked out in beautiful gowns. 'Oscar de la Renta's version of Snow White's dress; Valentino's take on Belle's ballgown; and Versace's tribute to Cinderella. It doesn't stop there - Marchesa has given Ariel a makeover and Elie Saab has recreated Sleeping Beauty's dress, while Rapunzel has been styled by Jenny Packham.' WOW!!! It is set to coincide with a 7000 square foot Disney Princess pop-up boutique on the fourth floor!! All will be revealed on the 1st of November!!!

When Pudesy Met Vogue...

"We are very proud to present our completed BritishVogue Pudsey to auction for Children in Need," concluded Burns. "He is both a tribute to the legacy of iconic cover images created by legendary photographers and editors over the past 96 years, and to the talent, dedication and generosity of our friends." (Vogue.com)

Watch this space for where to buy this total must-have! Move over those boots form Topshop and the clutch smiling at me each day. This reigns supreme!!!Xxx

People Watching...

A week can feel like it's over in a second. Sometimes it can feel like forever. Today i am going with the latter.

So, to make myself feel better i have visited numerous places today in an attempt to put a smile back on my otherwise sad face. First came Zara, this had no effect i am saddened to say. Next came Topshop, this was equally as painful. Home i came to my wonderfully fixed laptop, ahhh Vogue.com. Filled with the lastest fashion news, winter coats, street style chic, blogs, trends, Chanel and Brad Pitt (not loving the latter part of that sentence. I have to say that the fact he appears on the advert made me switch my perfume this month! YSL all the way!) Vogue.com has got it going onnnnn!

I have always been a fan of people watching. Imagine doing this in London, Tokyo, Paris, New York!!! Wow! These UK-ers have nothing on the rest of the world. Don't get me wrong, we know how to dress alright, but some of these just can't step a foot wrong in the fashion world. JEALOUS!!!!!

I just had to get in my fashion goddess ADR! Number one rule 'Always wear evening wear in the day!!!' One to definitely stick to!!!!!

Hmmm, the smile is flickering somewhere beneath the frown. The fact i feel like i have lost my right arm is simmering quietly, the phone is as far away from me as possible and my connection to the outside world is all but via laptop.

People watching will suffice for now. Next stop, Sweden!!!Xxx

SATC...

'Maybe our mistakes are what make our fate. Without them, what would shape our lives? Perhaps if we never veered off course, we wouldn't fall in love, or have babies, or be who we are. After all, seasons change. So do cities. People come into your life and people go. But its comforting to know that the ones you love are always in your heart.'

Computer Hell...

And once again the computer breaks! My connection to the outside world, my Sex And The City lifeline, gone! Oh how my heart breaks! I feel incomplete.  The only thing for it is an early night with the hope of waking up tomorrow feeling that it may just be a dream! We can but hope. For now i will soothe myself with Vogue.com and tea, lots and lots of tea!!!Xxx

Shopping Blues...

After a long stressful, emotional week (who'd be a woman eh??!) i decided that it was high time i paid a visit to Topshop. So the leather and the fur went on, Louis on the arm and i head over to the fashion paradise. The hype surrounding the opening had all died down so i was free to wander the store taking in its make over, which didn't disappoint! It was actually like being in a childs version of Oxford Street, like a toy world. Of course the stock didn't differ form York last week, or The White Rose but somwhow you felt like it was the first time of seeing any of it! Stores are very clever!!! The weather outside had most certainly warmed up from the day before so under all those lights and fur clad, the temperature of me was starting to rise. Not good! I paid a quick visit downstairs and there i fell in love. This always happens. This is always the reason i should stay away from shops. However, i have been very sensible this month and have only made few purchases form Zara, fur and bag included! So when my eyes set on the boots and jacket my heart leaped out of my chest. Although maybe that was the weather??! Anyway, i hovered around my new loves, sweating, excited, all the emotions! I had to leave, the only thing for it!!!

Aggro Black Stud Boots. £85.00.
Ahhh! Black. Studs. Spikes. Patent. All that you could want from a pair of boots. They also come with gold detail but the black, subtle embellishment screamed luxury!!! A must-have!!!

Grenade Military Jacket. The Ragged Priest. £75.00.
Like music to my eyes when i saw this brand. One i first fell in love with way back when in my London times. One i thought i had grown out of. One i was very wrong about. A brand i definitely need to buy back into.

Stinger Aran Cardigan. The Ragged Priest. £65.00.

Lockhart Coat. The Ragged Priest. £85.00.

Oh i could go on, and on, and on! The website is to die for and the lookbook is just amazing. Topshop also had the shirts with leather sleeves and i was edging to the till before the near sunstroke kicked in (can you get that from lights??!) so i left without a bag!!! However the other day i ventured into Zara to de-tag something and left with a bag, i don't know how that happened!!!!!

Watch this space. I may not be able to resist the temptation any longer. These would be well worth staying in for the rest of the month for. Now there's a thought!!!Xxx

Topshop Returns...

After visiting many other Topshops across the UK, it was high time that something was done with Leeds store. Of course i remember the even older one in Burton's Arcade so the old re-development was like a god send. However the stairs always put me off venturing down to the shoe department, and i have to say that Topshop shoes are some of the best going. Oxford Street's Topshop is just like a palace of all that is fashion. I could spend hours upon hours in there and now i have the same on my own doorstep. Topshop is just great to walk around and surevy all the wonderful items and people watch all the fashionistas swapping their style day to day.

So, the store had it's opening on 11th October. Leeds was buzzing with youngsters, a sea of denim hot pants, studs, camouflage print, skinny jeans and leathers and that was just the boys. All eager and ready to win some of the amazing offers up for grabs. Pixie Geldof (a secret crush of mine) hit the decks and the place was rocking! With it's very own Personal Shopping department this store is now one of the biggest outside of London. This makes me proud to be a Notherner!!!

Goodbye stairs, hello highway to heaven. With the huge prints of pure unadulterated fashion, Leeds is fast becoming one of the most hip cities in the UK. Watch out London and Manchester, we're a-coming!!!Xxx

Dior SS13...

The collection all have been waiting for! Raf Simons' debut collection for Dior. You may remember posts about his appointment at the fashion house earlier in the year, then his offering back in July for the Couture collection. Everyone then waited with bated breath to see what he had in store for the fashion world.

He gave us expertly tailored jackets, jacket dresses, mini ball-gown numbers in puffs of pinks and metallics. The mini reigned throughout and as Vogue.com aptly put it 'it was emblematic of freedom and liberation.' Feminine and complex. There were black and pink short dresses, some clung to the body, others in pleats and chiffon overlays, floral motifs and multi-coloured shoes with the thinnest of heels to boot! The Couture collection was chic, just as you would imagine, however, this swapped the trousers for shorts, keeping the mini reigning supreme.

We had the Dior tailoring combined with Simons' playful nature, all in all it created the perfect debut collection for the fashion house. They wanted a storm and they got one, one of perfection, pink and puffballs!!!
