Edinburgh Fringe Festival...

So, not particularly fashion related but I promised a post to my brother. Ever been to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival? No? Well, you don't know what you're missing out on. I happen to be a tad biased in this subject, as not only have I been but I also have a fondness for a certain Horizon Arts. A company who won the Adelaide Award back in 2010 for their outstanding play 'Heroin(e) For Breakfast' and just keeps on going from strength to strength. Last year they brought us 'Razing Eddie', a harrowing tale about love, friendship and trust. Posing questions on how far you would go for the love of another. Certain parts really did hit home and tears were soon strolling in abundance. What I love about these are their true Yorkshire charm, their tales are so close to home that its almost scary, goosebumps will cover your entire body at poignant moments and you have to remind yourself that it's actually a play you're watching and not a snippet of someone's life. I have the privilege of knowing the mastermind behind Horizon and this puts the whole company and spirit into perspective!

Now this years Fringe brings you a double whammy, 'Beeston Rifles' and 'The Vanish Inquisition', the latter I have already seen and I can tell you that this is one NOT to be missed. So, if you know what's good for you then you will give yourself a real treat this Summer and get yourself to Edinburgh, book some tickets and spend a delightful few days in the capital, being all civilised and intellectual and that. Horizon Arts. A name not to forget this Summer!!!Xxx

What I Wore Today...

Summer is trying to push it's way through the gale force wind!!! And where I live you can actually hear it whistling! However, I never let the weather determine my outfit so the heels were out and the top knot was back!!! Yesssss! Finally! A simple leather, colourful jeans to brighten up the mood, classic black knit and my signature red lips, not to mention my favourite heels finishing off the outfit to a tee!!! Chic and feminine with just a touch of my unique style thrown in. Perfect!!!Xxx

Summer, Summer, Summertime...

And so the start of a brand new week. The sun is shining, I am all beauty saloned out and my Celine sunglasses are doing an excellent job of shielding my un-makeupped face!!! Whilst on the subject of make-up I have absolutely fallen in love with Nars Sheer-Glow foundation, slightly different from my YSL Touché Éclat but still a rather perfect companion to my skin. It is making it difficult to choose which will be my next purchase!!! Gotta love new weeks, new days, all fresh with no mistakes in. (A quote from my one of my favourite childhood films!) Confused at how some people can just cut you out of their life as if you never meant anything, but in so many times gone past, this is not a stage I intend to falter. I have fallen prey to this twice now and as I promised myself upon moving back from London, NEVER AGAIN. But at least I still have my self respect...oh and my new Celine's of course!!!Xxx

Saturday, Saturday...

So at the end of rather a weird week, I now have the prospect of four whole days off. Friends, family and hoping for enough sun to get on my new Celines! Yesssss. 'Tis true that everything happens for a reason and something's just aren't meant to be, it doesn't stop things from being sad however. But I am far from feeling down and depressed, that is one place I shall be staying far away from!!! Usually in moments like this I swear off all men stating I shall never date or trust again, but after a long period of knowing something just wasn't right, I kinda got the feeling that there was so some else for me out there. It was nice to have the courage and the strength to reach out and change my life, for the better may I add, for the first time ever. Knowing what could have happened, or knowing the outcome, I held back the fear and finally felt proud of myself. So my mantra from so long ago has come back to help me through. People do come in and out of your life, and the latter is always for a reason! See there it is again. Leave no time for regrets as everything is a lesson learned. Now enough of the sentimental, emotional stuff. I have a weekend to prepare for. Nails. Check. Hair. En route in approximately T minus 1 hour. Outfit. Pre-prepared. But first, a day with the delightful Charles and beautiful babies!!! Happy Weekend People!!!Xxx

Trinity, Leeds...

Trinity sits right in the heart of Leeds City Centre, bringing a whole new shopping haven to the already well established fashion capital of the North. Championing stores such as Topshop, River Island, Office, Warehouse this place quite honestly has everything you need. Coffee shops galore to rest the weary feet and Jamie Laing's Candy Kitten store for those Made In Chelsea wannabes amongst you! If something slightly more substantial takes your fancy then there are a whole host of restaurants to be found on the top level, in particular The Alchemist. I am already hearing wondrous reviews of this eatery. I am lead to believe the views across the city are ones definitely not to be beaten. It's like a mini Trafford Centre right on your very own doorstep, cinema, boutique pop-up shops for the quirky and the fashionistas and it even has a One Direction shop for those Harry Styles fans amongst you. I imagine you won't step forward but it's for a limited time only so don't miss out. This centre really doesn't disappoint, even though units still sit empty, plans are still being made and new shops shall be opening monthly if not weekly!!! London better watch out as Leeds is definitely on it's way up. I would tell you to wrap up warm while this cold weather is hanging around as its open sides do allow you to feel the draft somewhat!!! But once that heat wave hits in April this is going to be THE place to be. Just stepping into it leaves you feeling like you're actually not in Leeds, the modernisation of the centre really is unbelievable. From the days of the wooden snake and Chelsea Girl in the old Bond Street Centre it is hard to believe that this is the same area! I think Trinity may become my new haunt!!!Xxx

I Dreamed A Dream...

Balenciaga. Need I say more!!!Xxx

Sunday Night Pleasures...

So much for being the first few days of Spring...more snow than I have seen in years, closed roads, ice, slush, wellies, heating up full notch...but I still made it out in my heels on Saturday night! And I expect that you aren't that shocked!!! Well it may be snowing but I am a firm believer that if you want something hard enough and believe in it enough then it will happen! Sooooo, if I love and breathe Summer then the hot weather will happen??! We can but try! So, as of tomorrow my bright pink Luella bag is coming out of the wardrobe and I am fully embracing all things bright. I have a hefty 12/14 hour shift ahead and the only thing that will get me through will be the dizzy heights of Summer...slightly mad??! Yes, probably! Plans are being made and trips to London will be being booked. Since moving back I have visited once and this simply will not do, my Southern bezzies deserve a visit as do I!

So back to my Sunday night, dinner and drinks out I am back on the sofa with iPad, dressing gown and Ashley Banjo on the box. Mentally preparing for the day to come tomorrow I shall also bring you pictures straight from the new Leeds Trinity Centre. How very exciting!!!Xxx

Holiday Blues...

Ahhh and so the holiday blues continue. Been home a fair few days now and all I dream of is sunshine, poolside and Gin! Thems were the days. So instead I am filling myself with Instagram, blogs, magazines and websites, not so much shopping but dreaming is just as good. And far healthier on the bank balance!!! Now it is home to my glass of rosé, flat talking with Mummy C and sofa time!!! Down-sizing is a chore but rather good for the clearing out the wardrobe...the one job that I never get around to!!! Happy Wednesday!!!Xxx

We're All Going On A Summer Holiday...

So, Winter is totally over in my mind. I am so bored of getting up everyday and layering it up, thermal, top, jumper, coat, scarf...urggghhhhh! Some people are just made for warmer climates and I am one of them! So here I am, writing this from the sun terrace of my Gran Melia hotel in Los Gigantes, Tenerife. The setting is sublime, sun is blaring and thus the Raybans are on. Swimming has been done in abundance and now it's time for a Hendricks and Tonic with my Mr. Perfect by my side. Chill Out tunes playing, bikini nicely drying and I'm figuring out to wear tonight. Ahhh something's never change...well, cheers to all!!! Chin, chin!!!Xxx

For You. From Me!!!Xxx

Yorkshire Post Column...

My Latest Yorkshire Post Offering!!!

Dear Stylist,

So winter is definitely in full swing and I am in need of some sunshine. The week is booked, bikinis out of the summer wardrobe and sun cream at the top of the shopping list. The only thing I am lacking is some signature shades. I am fed up of buying cheap pairs and them breaking a day into my sunshine break. Please help me find some stylish, classic, timeless frames that will last me holiday after holiday. You may just be my holiday angel!!!

Well it just so happens that you and I are in the exact same boat. Escaping the snow and the post-Christmas blues just has to be done to keep ones sanity intact. Now if you’re anything like me you will love a bargain at this time of year and I just so happened to snap up a few in my bikini shopping. But one area you can’t afford to be frugal is with the shades! They can adorn any outfit and be it skiing, lying on a beach, driving in the car or simply hiding hungover eyes…they really are everyone’s best friend.

Ever dreamed of being Holly Golightly and skipping down a Manhattan sidewalk? No? Just me then. Or, even better, ever fancied yourself on the arm of Val Kilmer in Top Gun? You got the hint yet? Yes!!! Ray-ban, one of the most famous sunglasses brands of our time. Most tend to go for the wayfarer, however I find the aviator a tad more flattering, all depending on face shape of course.
The average price is around £130 and they are available with different colour frames and lenses, they offer 100% UV protection and look like pure perfection! Once you invest you will be hooked. You want a piece of pure American heritage? Then THIS is the way to do it.

If you have browsed through any magazines of late then you will see the pages covered with the cat-eye and round shape. The majority fear these but please don’t joint the crowds; sunglasses are like a pair of jeans, you have to try on dozens before you find the perfect pair. Celine have been wowing us with their leather goods, now it is time to turn your eyes to their frames. Never one to conform to the norm, they have joined the fashion pack and produced their take on the new trend! And at £260 you have to be sure these are the ones for you!

With their black polarised lenses they offer excellent protection for your eyes as well as looking oh so Parisian chic.

But, if playing it safe and subtle is for you then opt for the Gucci’s. In tortoise shell or black they offer the oversized shape any discerning fashionista longs for. The logo sits at the top of the arm, just enough for notice to be taken. Hair up or down, it really won’t matter. When all else fails Gucci will always pull through. And at £220 you can pretty much guarantee that they will be in your life forever.

Bag Envy...

Well after a day like today there can be only one thing for it...window shopping (and by window I mean computer screen!!!) and a good old fashioned Gin & a can! I am so classy I know! As today started I wished it to be over...yes, one of those! We all have them! Now one would think that after working with bags and purses, belts, scarves all day, then one would like nothing more than to look at anything but all these items, right??! Well, one would be wrong! I just can't get enough of it. I made the oh so silly mistake of comp shopping other stores yesterday, so in effect, our rivals. However, I was unprepared for what was going to greet me. I had a slight feeling of what it could be but not all of it in ALL it's glory...Prada and Miu Miu. Just there. Standing tall. Beautiful. Proud. Ahhhhh!!!

Now I do have a tendency to find certain items and absolutely obsess over them. The look, the fabric, just the whole thing altogether. I don't particularly need it in my life, sometimes the dream of it is actually better than having it. So, first up is THE Prada clutch, anyone who knows me will know which one I mean. Diamond Jacquard Clutch Bag. Part of the catwalk collection, it really is the ultimate in clutch bags! Down from £385 to £275 this is the very best in bargains. A timeless keepsake. Secondly, we have the Miu Miu Nappa Mattelasse clutch, beautiful leather, chic and subtle but super gorgeous. A real investment piece at £355. And last but by no means least is the Mulberry Alexa Tassle bag. This needs no words, at £695 from £995 you can't go wrong for a piece of this pure British brand. Perfection. (And plus I am a tad obsessed with Alexa so it would be slightly like I was carrying a piece of her around...weird??! Hmmm...maybe a little!!!)Xxx

I just love the new season collections already! We have already seen Wang in all it's glory, today's Metro showcased a piece of JW Andersons menswear line...a photo will come later! But just so that you are fully prepared I shall say one word...skorts! Those in the know will know what I mean! But my absolute fave has to be Acne...obvs! I have been a massive fan of this Swedish brand for quite sometime, from the leathers, the boots to the infamous cuts! It is just sheer amazingness. To die for. Those Swedes do one thing well and that is most definitely fashion. From my brief days wandering the Swedish streets, well it isn't just full of beautiful architecture I can tell you. Street Style to the max, never to disappoint!!! So, let's take a look at their pre-fall AW13 offering, ahhhhh perfecto!!!Xxx

Doing It For The Wang...

Alexander Wang. Ahhhhh. What is there to say??! Erm...Rihanna, Rocco, New York, studs, leather, hammocks (only those in the know will know!!!), fluos, Diego, AWESOME!!! Literally. I was in love with Wang for quite some time.Admiring his collections from afar. Following his feeds on facebook. Visiting his store in New York. got it yet??! Ah well, i tried. Yes, 'tis true. Wang is like a cult. Once you are in you are never getting out!!!Xxx

The Smiths...

And so another year is here. 2013. It seems very strange to be so far in the 2000's, that can only mean one thing...i am officially getting older!!! The year of the big 3-0 actually, scary stuff. But i shall not turn bitter at the coming of age, no, no! I shall embrace it and take it well in my stride. To be fair 2012 turned out to be a pretty good year and i have a feeling that this year may just somehow beat it!!! It is funny to think that after all the preparation and late nights, Christmas seems to come and go in a flash. Over and done with, wrapping paper quickly off its roll and in the bin! But, the start of a new year can mean only one thing...and that is the new collections hitting the stores. Sale items slowly but surely making their way of the shelves leaving room for all the pretty new produce to leave it's mark. Ahhh SS13 is sure going to be a good one. Bright colours, summer on the way and light mornings to wake up to. February can be good for one thing and one thing only...FASHION WEEKS!!!!! My computer doesn't know what's hit it when the fashion packs hit London, Paris, New York, Sweden, just everywhere! Street Style shots in abundance, must-haves, high street rip offs and the to die for items haunting me on a daily basis! Days are calmer and my iPad will be bringing news straight from fashionstas paradise as it happens!!!

2013. You may just be my new best friend!!!Xxx
